June 25-29th I attended the 42nd Annual Double Reed Society Conference in Redlands, CA. In addition to having a lot of fun with awesome bassoon players, I presented a workshop on building functional strength for double reed players that was extremely well attended and sat on a lively panel discussing musical careers. I had a wonderful time and appreciate how well host Carolyn Beck set-up the conference! I’d also like to thank the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for providing funding so I could attend.
